Learning is social

We learn in dialogue with others, and how much we learn relies on our ability to think critically about what others say. In our sessions, the AI tutor and children are continuously recalibrating to provide a productive social environment where your child can engage with ideas, learn from disagreements, and develop academically in the context of the collaborative interactivity they crave.

Mindset is a skill

A growth mindset is neither innate nor a switch that's flipped; it is learned, practiced, and formed into a habit by immersion in a setting that fosters it. In our sessions, we intentionally orchestrate a social setting that develops academic knowledge as well as the cognitive patterns that accelerate academic achievement.

Knowledge requires action

The development, refinement, and maintaining of knowledge is accomplished through active thought and interaction. While some motivated children might self-assign the mental work required to learn from streamed videos, most will forget the passive experience. In our sessions, your child will dynamically articulate their thoughts, challenge the ideas of others, and solve problems interactively because only an active mind can achieve deep, integrated, and sustained knowledge.

Engagement is necessary but insufficient

Because knowledge requires action, a child must be engaged to learn. However, engagement is not a recipe for learning in itself: only engagement with content leads to progress. Gamification, attention-grabbing graphics, and other extrinsic, short-attention content might engage a child temporarily, but it more often distracts and inhibits focus than creates a space conducive to deep learning. In our sessions, distractions are minimized to drive engagement in the content and the interpersonal connections formed in tackling that content with others.

Methodology is a complex science

Effective methodologies are developed through decades of investigation, testing, and refinement by domain experts partnering with educators in the field. Methodologies encompass the interaction of all instructional aspects including academic aims, development goals, content, prerequisites, timing, educational materials, approach to delivery, methods of student practice, and the standards for demonstrating knowledge and skill. Because of this complexity and the centuries of development that evolved the best methods, LLMs are incapable of originating and executing effective methodologies on their own. In our sessions, methodology is hardcoded into the tutor's instructional interactions with your child to ensure that no chances are taken with the quality of instruction.
